Despite the doors to worship centers closing, believers are opening their hearts to God

PEW Research Center says that 24 per cent of Americans are growing their faith during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Close to half of Americans who attend services have grown in their faith and 11 per cent of people who have never attended or almost never attend services say their faith has strengthened during the pandemic.

PEW attributes the leap in faith in part due to increased accessibility to services. Churches may have their doors closed, but most are streaming their services, making it easily accessible to most Christians.

The largest groups of Christians to say their faith grew are historically black churches growing by 56 per cent, evangelical groups grew by 42 per cent, and Protestants overall grew their faith by 38 per cent.

The majority of believers, 47 per cent, told PEW researchers that their faith has remained unchanged during te pandemic.
