The Alberta RCMP are warning the public of some online scams that are circulating.

They say that there have been reports including false sales of face masks and COVID-19 test kits, as well as many bait and click scams disguised as health organizations.

The RCMP says that it is important to be wary of unsolicited emails containing links from unknown senders or slightly altered email addresses.

They are also reminding the public to use their best judgement when purchasing online items, and only purchase from trusted senders.

The Better Business Bureau has also stated that it is common for people to fall victim to scams during unprecedented times like these; they say it is important to do your homework before borrowing any money and to know the dangers associated with unsolicited text messages and social media.
