Alberta Parks is letting people know that reservations for the upcoming season will be open next Thursday, Mar. 4.

Individual campsites will be able to be reserved up to 90 days in advance of the camper’s arrival date. Launch times are being staggered by region; those are available online

Comfort camping opens for reservations on Friday, Mar. 5 for bookings up to 180 days in advance.

Backcountry camping is already open, and can be booked 90 days in advance.

Group camping will be closed until Alberta Health Services eases restrictions on group gatherings. Shared sites with shared amenities like picnic tables and fire pits will have one half of the site closed. Shower facilities remain closed as well.

If Alberta Parks has to cancel reservations because of COVID-19 restrictions, campers will be notified and receive a full refund – including the reservation fee.

Alberta Parks reminds campers to follow all Alberta Health guidelines and remember to bring their own hand sanitizer. Read the full COVID-19 guidelines online.

To reserve a campsite, visit reserve.albertaparks.ca or phone the Alberta Parks Contact Centre at 1-877-537-2757 (toll-free in North America).

Reservations for national parks will be launching in April this year, in the hopes of giving people more time to consider the latest COVID-19 measures and to reduce possible need for cancellations.

The start date to reserve sites in Alberta’s national parks is Apr. 12 at 8:00 a.m. Reservations will be available online or by calling 1-877-RESERVE (1-877-737-3783).
