Dr. Hinshaw reported today 6501 recoveries from COVID-19 and 400 active cases. 

Currently in the hospital are 53 with six of these in the ICU. Of 2709 tests from the last 24 hours, there are 34 new cases. There have been no new deaths. 

One person in each the City and County of Grande Prairie has recovered. There are five recoveries and one active case in the County. In the City there are nine active and five recoveries. 

Public health is watching an increase in active cases in the Edmonton zone. Ten of these cases so far can be linked back to two family gatherings. Dr. Hinshaw commends those at these gathering for getting testing early. 

Dr. Hinshaw reminds Albertans we can help prevent these situations by following public health mandates, including practicing distance from those outside their household or cohort family and not sharing food or drink at. She also notes that outdoor gatherings have a lower risk that indoor. 

Dr. Hinshaw says that it is critical to go for testing for even minor symptoms and to not attend gatherings if you are sick. She urges Albertans not to shame those with symptoms or the virus and support those who need to isolate. 

Booking appointments for testing is available online for all Albertans, whether symptomatic or not. Getting testing will help as we move to stage two of relaunch.
