Today Dr. Hinshaw touched on the workplace guidance documents the province has provided to help provide expectations for Alberta businesses. These documents are intended to apply to all types of businesses.

Business owners should work through them and make decisions on how to apply them to their specific settings. The government is working on guidance for specific sectors.

Dr. Hinshaw says businesses should think about what mechanisms they can put in place to help customers to understand what is expected of them, like posting signs with reminders. They also need to have a way to check on employees and make sure they are not coming in if sick.

Dr. Hinshaw encouraged Albertans to help each other get used to the new norms and be kind to each other as we do it. Being kind and compassionate will help as we transition in this time of relaunch.

The final decision by the Emergency Management Cabinet Committee on whether phase one of the relaunch will happen on May 14 is being made tonight and will be announced tomorrow.
