On August 2nd, just after 4pm the Grande Prairie Fire Department responded to a report of a home on fire in the Countryside neighbourhood. Upon arrival, smoke and flames were visible as the fire engulfed the back of the home and spread into the attic. Fire crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control and protect surrounding homes.

There were no injuries during this incident however 3 occupants were displaced.

The cause of this fire is currently being investigated. A determination of the fire cause and origin should be completed today.
