Walter and Paddy Janzen, a couple with a passion for Jesus and a heart for adventure has hit the road for a special cause. The Janzen's are originally from Winnipeg, now based in Chatham, Ontario, are riding their Harley Davidson across western Canada and the United States, covering 18,000 kilometres to raise funds and awareness for Samaritan's Purse.

Following the closure of many doors, the couple decided that it was time to retire, but not without doing something adventurous yet purposeful.

"We decided if we were going to retire, let's finish strong, and let's do something adventurous with a purpose," said Walter. "We want to bless people, connect people and raise funds and awareness for a very worthy cause, for disaster relief with Samaritan's Purse,"

Back in 2017, Paddy cycled across Canada to gather donations for the Canadian Liver Foundation and raise awareness for liver disease. She also raised funds for the Winkler Adult and Teen Challenge programming.

"That was such an incredible journey of faith. I just became a new person after that, and I'm even more passionate about adventure and helping people know Jesus," said Paddy. "I just want to be engaged in helping people across the nation."

They hope to raise $10,000 for Samaritan's Purse.

"Whether we reach it or not, that's up to God's anointing to do what he wants with it. Our purpose more directly is to connect with as many people as possible," Walter explained.

"God's got a purpose, so we are just waiting for the anointing to drop, and we'll be right there when it happens," said Paddy.

The couple are leaving Alberta today to head towards Vancouver Island.
