Bobbie Houston, the wife of Hillsong Church founder Brian Houston, recently revealed eight witnesses were called to the stand testifying that he allegedly concealed his late father's sexual abuse.

Authorities allege that Houston "knew information relating to the sexual abuse of a young male in the 1970s and failed to bring that information to the attention of police." Court documents allege Brian Houston knew as early as September 1999 that his father, Frank Houston, had committed an indecent assault in 1970. Frank was he head of the Assemblies of God in New Zealand until 1971 and died in 2004.

Bobbie shared that during the 13-day court trial in December, there were multiple witnesses testifying against Brian, however, no one but Brian took the stand maintaining his innocence.

"Now the case is adjourned till June for oral & written summaries, final arguments & then the Magistrate alone will rule," says Bobbi on social media.

The wife of the former megachurch pastor says she will do all she can to stand up for his character.

"I'm weary of the relentless assault on this man, weary of the unchallenged, uncontained narratives left to fester. I vowed to him last year that if no one stands up & vindicates his integrity, character & worth, I will. And I'll die on my sword if need be."

Brian was charged in August 2021 after a two-year investigation by the New South Wales Police in Australia.

"Modern-day persecution is accusatory, cowardly & appalling. Those who perpetrate it should be sued for defamation & damaging bullying, but because that isn't the nature of Christ, we will continue to pray for you. Just remember dear ones, that the Courts of Heaven exist & no action or word or ill-intent goes unobserved."

At the time Brian was charged, he said, "I welcome the opportunity to set the record straight."

One of the witnesses that took the stand was Hillsong general manager George Aghajanian. According to The Christian Post, while Aghajanian was on the stand, he shared that he believes he is the first person to tell Brian about the allegations against his father. He testified that the church did not inform authorities about the disciplinary actions taken against Frank Houston and the abuse allegations because it wasn't a "current matter."

On top of these allegations, Brian resigned as pastor one year ago after allegations that he was part of sexual misconduct. On this matter he has also maintained his innocence. One of the incidents cites Brian entered a hotel room with a woman under the influence of alcohol and anxiety medication for 40 minutes. What happened in the room during the church's annual conference is unknown as the woman in question did not say whether anything inappropriate happened.
