Last week the province announced over 700,000 worth of funding for three community projects in the County of Grande Prairie. The grant funding is from the provinces Community Initiatives Program.

$500,000 will be going towards the La Glace arena project, the Bezanson Ag Society received over $26,000, and the Hythe & District Agricultural Society received just over 192,000 to help build the Mustang Spray Park.

These projects will help generate jobs and improve opportunities for families to build their community through sports and recreation.

Travis Toews, MLA, Grande Prairie-Wapiti made the following statement:

“I was happy to stand with Reeve Bob Marshall, Tarril & Karen Rosvold, Derek Nyland, president of La Glace Agriculture society along with some of their Society members to announce new funding under the Community Facility Enhancement Program that will benefit Albertans and their families living in the Peace region.

The people of the peace region have worked extremely hard to push this and other projects forward; projects that will support our community for many years to come.”
