The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie has initiated a “Covid-19 Rapid Relief Fund” to aid local food banks in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

50% of proceeds for all Rotary Dream Home tickets sold in April will go to the fund.

Steve Madden, Club president, says, “We are talking about putting dollars where they are needed within days and weeks. This is unprecedented fundraising moving forward at an unprecedented rate, but in support of an unprecedented crisis. So we are acting, now. If you order a $100 Dream Home ticket, $50 will go to the food banks.”

The fund will be given to the Grande Prairie Salvation Army’s Food bank and food banks in northwest Alberta.

Kevin Hilgers is Raffle Manager of the Rotary Dream Home Lottery. He says the home is available for tours “virtually”.

“It’s next best thing to being there. I’m excited about the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie’s Covid-19 Rapid Relief Fund. That means a huge swath of the proceeds will go quickly to regional food banks. Of course the fundraiser supports many causes in the region but right now - this one is urgent. The need is here, now.”

Dream Home tickets are available at 780-513-8887, 1-855-230-8887, or winadreamhome.ca Dream Home tickets are $100, 3 for $250 five for $400 or 8 for $600. There are also Cash Jackpot 50-50 tickets and Cash Cow Calendar tickets.

The lottery ends in 3 weeks, on April 22.
