As of 7 pm last night, there are 272 wildfires burning across B.C. The B.C. wildfire service reported that 3,193 firefighters and other personnel are currently fighting the fires, which also includes 64 out of province firefighters, with 198 helicopters and planes supporting ground crews. 

With over 60 evacuations, and close to 80 on alert, there are many fires burning across the province but only those that affect highway travel are listed below:

 

Cariboo – Tatla Lake / Anahim Lake (Big Stick Lake fire)

  • Highway 20 open with pilot vehicle when safe from 15 km west of Tatla Lake to 22 km east of Anahim Lake
  • May close again at any time

Cariboo – Anahim Lake (Hotnarko Creek fire)

  • Highway 20 RE-OPENED 38 km to 6 km west of Anahim Lake
  • May close again at any time

Canim Lake

  • Canim Lake South Road between Canim Lake Store and Mahood Lake Road – CLOSED
  • Mahood Road, Canim Lake South Road to Hathaway Lake – CLOSED.  Detour for local traffic only on Canim Lake South Road.

Clinton / 100 Mile House (Flat Lake fire)

  • Highway 97 re-opened with heavy smoke – 5 km south of 100 mile House to 7 km north of Clinton.
  • CAUTION – this could close again at any time.
  • Detours via Highway 24.

Lytton (Lytton Creek fires)

  • Highway 1 is OPEN between Hope and south of Lytton.
  • Highway 1 is CLOSED from north of Lytton to Spences Bridge
  • Detour via Highway 12.

Kamloops (Sparks Lake fires)

  • Tranquille Criss Creek Road – CLOSED.
  • Deadman Vidette Road – CLOSED.
  • Back Valley Road – CLOSED
  • Sabiston Creek Road – CLOSED
  • Savona Cemetery Road – CLOSED
  • Frederick Road – CLOSED
  • Eagan Lake Road – CLOSED (new)

Ashcroft / Kamloops (Tremont Creek fire)

  • Walhachin Station Road CLOSED at Highway 1

Westwold,  North Okanagan (White Rock Lake fire)

  • Douglas Lake Road CLOSED to public traffic

 Sicamous, North Okanagan (Sicamous MVI fire)

  • Highway 97A, south of Sicamous CLOSED between 5 km north of Enderby to Sicamous.

Osoyoos, South Okanagan (Inkaneep fire)

CLOSED:
Sidley Mountain Road, Sidley-Camp McKinney road, Wagon Wheel Road, Courtney Brown Road, Raven Hill North Road, Wiggins Road, Kelly Road, Timberwolf Trail Road, Timber Road and Wolfpack Place.

Highway 6 near Slocan (Trozzo Creek fire)

  • Single Lane Alternating Traffic with Pilot car for vehicles through the evacuation zone.

Needles Ferry / Fauquier (Octopus Creek fire)

  • Needles Ferry – CLOSED
  • Highway 6 – Needles to 6 km east of Fauquier – CLOSED
  • Monashee Summit to 1 km west of Needles (Kettle River fire) – CLOSED
  • Inonoaklin Valley Road south of Edgewood – CLOSED
  • Lower Inonoaklin Road south of Edgewood – CLOSED
  • Whatshan Settlement Road south of Edgewood – CLOSED
  • Applegrove Road – CLOSED
