The recent update (May 24) on COVID-19 in Alberta shows 42 new cases bringing the number of total active cases to 801.  There are 3 active cases in Grande Prairie and 3 recoveries.  The County of Grande Prairie has 2 active cases and 4 recoveries.

Cases have been identified in all zones across the province:
Calgary zone: 629 active cases and 4,020 recovered
South zone: 92 active cases and 1,132 recovered
Edmonton zone: 55 active cases and 455 recovered
North zone: 20 active cases and 200 recovered
Central zone: three active cases and 95 recovered
Two active cases and 22 recovered cases in zones to be confirmed

Recoveries are up, hospitalizations have gone down and there are no more deaths reported from COVID-19 in the province today (May 24).

There were a few more new cases of the virus reported today than yesterday with 48 today compared to just 18 yesterday.  However the number of people hospitalized has dropped to 46 with six of the patients remaining in the ICU.

No additional deaths leaves the total Albertans who have died from the virus at 135.  

55 more recoveries were noted today making 5,924 Albertans who have beaten coronavirus.

In the past 24 hours, 4,015 tests for the virus were conducted in the province.  To date 236,789 tests have been completed.
