Two people are dead and 13 are injured after New Mexico youth group's bus was involved in a crash on June 23.

The youth group from the University of New Mexico Aquinas Newman Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico was returning from the Steubenville of the Rockies Catholic Youth Convention in Colorado. UNM says in a statement online that the bus crashed a few miles north of Pueblo, CO.

The driver Anthony Padilla and Seminarian Jason Marshall both died in the crash.

There were reportedly a total of 10 children and five adults on board the bus. The surviving 13 suffered varying injuries, with 12 being transported to hospital.

According to KRQE the Colorado State Patrol tweeted Sunday the crash occurred on southbound I-25 near mile marker 109. They say the bus hit an embankment under a bridge about 45 miles from Colorado Springs.

Another New Mexico television station reports that the driver of the bus may have suffered from a medical emergency. The Colorado State Patrol is continuing its investigation.
