Students at Avondale School will be a little bit warmer this winter thanks to a donation of 150 brand new winter jackets from Money Mart, in support of Operation Warm.

Operation Warm is a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing new winter jackets to support the physical and emotional well-being of Canadian children.

“Money Mart believes in giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Denise Teliske, District Manager for Money Mart, “It warms my heart that we are able to provide coats to a wonderful community like Grande Prairie, I know Michelle Blandizzi, the store manager at our Grande Prairie location, is also thrilled. She has been a huge supporter of Operation Warm.”

Operation Warm’s mission is to support children emotionally as well as physically, and the generous donation from Money Mart will warm hearts and bodies at Avondale School and across the Grande Prairie Public School Division.

Principal Kristina Black shared that the strength of the Avondale School community is the commitment by staff, students and parents to making Avondale a safe, caring and welcoming place to learn and work.

“We have a high level of parent and community involvement at the school,” said Ms. Black, adding, “Community support like this donation from Money Mart helps support our entire school community.”
