The numbers are in and over half a million people came out to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth this summer.

The Calgary Stampede released the official number Monday, saying that 528,998 people came through the gates for the 10-day event.

Although the Stampede usually sees more than a million people, these numbers are not surprising to Stampede organizers. The Calgary Stampede limited capacity this year and tickets could only be purchased online.

In 2019, the Stampede reported 1,275,465 people had attended the event.

"The Calgary Stampede has been a trailblazer throughout our 109-year history, but never more than this year," the Stampede said in a release. "Thank you for joining us to Stampede your way, and to celebrate The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth."

The 2020 edition of the Stampede was cancelled due to concerns over COVID-19.
