The story of Addison Road begins at Baylor University in Waco , TX. Jenny Chisolm met Ryan Simmons in choir and they soon begain making beautiful music together...literally. They wrote song and booked a few gigs. Ryan played acoustic guitar and Jenny sang. It became apparent that they needed a full band, so they enlisted a couple a friends. The Afters is a hip, young, modern rock band. They started where you might expect a hip, young, modern rock band to start - Starbucks. Joshua Havens and Matt Fuqua worked together at a Starbucks in Texas. When they weren't serving specialty drinks, they would perform for customers in the coffee shop. In 1995 Sparrow Records's A&R Director Grant Cunningham had a vision for a new vocalist group that could sing tight harmonies. The first artist recruited for the new group was Michael Passons, who Cunningham saw perform at a coffee shop.
