Ready to kick-start or expand your garden? The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce the return of GP Grows: Dig It, presented by the City of Grande Prairie and generously sponsored this year by Servus Credit Union.

Following the success of GP Grows and positive feedback from the community, GP Grows: Dig It continues its mission to provide residents with an engaging gardening endeavor, offering seed potatoes, seed onions, and triple-mix soil—all for free. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, our on-site team will be available to address any questions you may have and offer tips and tricks to maximize your plant growth!

"Growing your own garden isn't just a hobby; it’s a lifestyle that teaches patience, growth and nourishment while providing a sense of accomplishment," shared Kierstyn Otterman, Environmental Programming Facilitator for the City of Grande Prairie Environment and Parks. "With GP Grows: Dig It, we're excited to help you start your own green adventure right at home. So, gather the family, get your hands dirty, and let's explore the wonderful world of homegrown delights together."

Servus Credit Union, Alberta's largest member-owned financial institution, is sponsoring this year’s GP Grows: Dig It event, an initiative focused on food sustainability.

GP Grows: Dig It takes place on May 11 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grande Prairie Activity & Reception Centre, located at 9401 Park Road. This program operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration is not required. Please make sure to bring your own pail or container!

City personnel will be on hand to dispense invaluable insights into initiating a thriving home garden. A green thumb is not required to partake in this complimentary program.
